Indiana picked up its 9th football commitment for 2009 today when Duwyce Wilson committed to play for the Hoosiers. Wilson, a 6′4″, 190 lb wide receiver out of Columbus East High School (OH), joins Jamonne Chester as the second wide receiver prospect in IU’s class of 2009.

The tall but fleet Wilson, who had offers from Purdue, Wisconsin, Iowa, Kentucky, and Cincinnati, is a huge pickup for Indiana. The Xavier Musketeers brought in another great player at the expense of Indiana today. Former guard Jordan Crawford, who elected to transfer after the coaching change this season, has committed to play for the Musketeers.

Xavier recruited Crawford extensively in high school, but he chose Indiana the first time. This time around, Xavier was first in line for his services. The Musketeers didn’t have an open scholarship, but an undisclosed player gave up his scholarship for Crawford for the good of the team.

Last year the 6′4″, 195 lb guard exceeded the expectations of many and averaged 9.7 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game in an outstanding freshman campaign.
